Dear friends, We want to challenge you after having the dinner on Sept 6th. Let me explain myself, Madrid wouldn't be the city it is without its terrazas (terraces) and cañas (beers) . During the summer, Spaniards love to sit on a terraza and chat for hours drinking some cañas and enjoying the warm breeze. Some areas of Madrid are particularly well known for this exact reason. However, because we are a considerable number of people, some are a little complicated to go to, like Plaza de Santa Ana or Alonso Martínez. Because we felt that it was a necessary activity, we looked for alternatives, and we found one. There is a place on the way back from the Jai Alai restaurant (where our dinner will take place) that can serve us all a drink after dinner on Friday. So, the conference has the pleasure to invite you to the first beer around 10:45PM, then you can stay there until the 01:00AM, when the terrace will close up. Dear colleagues, This is the route from the Miguel Ángel hotel to our school.In case you want to download the route into your mobile phone, please, click here . In case you just want to see a picture, here it is: As you see, it is just six minutes walking. However, the school is in a small hill,so be prepared by having a convinient breakfast ! The main entrance of the school can be seen underneath, Once inside the building, you will find signals showing you how to reach the ROOM C , where our conference takes place. Dear colleagues, On Saturday night, we have organized the gala dinner of the Conference at the Cafe de la Ópera Restaurant . It will be a singing dinner with the classical zarzuela "La verbena de la Paloma" . Our bus will pick up us by 21:00 at the Hotel. We must be in time, as the allowed stop time is very narrow and take us to the restaurant. The trip will last around 20 minutes. The menu can be seen here,   After finishing the dinner and the spectacle, the bus taking us back to the hotel by depart at 00:30AM We wish  you all enjoy the experience.

Dear Friends, We want to share with you the food being served for lunch under regular conditions on Friday the 6th , which is, Bean salad Grilled tuna with ' piperrada' ( link ) Flan Coffee or Tea Then, for Saturday the 7th the planned lunch will be, Escalivada ( link ) Duck comfit with roasted apple Seasonal fruit Coffee or Tea As the restaurant is the same, it opens the doors just by 14:00, which is our lunch time as well. Dear Friends, After the lunch on Sunday in Alcalá de Henares, here you are the scheduled trip to the Madrid Barajas Airport, covering both terminals 1, 2, 3 (terminal 2 stop) and terminal 4 (terminal 4 stop). If you have the boarding passes at hand and you carry just hand luggage to pass through the security regularly lasts for 15 min or so for T2/T3 (as a reference) and 25 min for T1/T4.

Dear Friends, There is a famous restaurant into a walking distance from the hotel and we decided to go there for the Friday dinner. It is scheduled by 20:30 hrs (8:30PM) You can find underneath the 15 min walking trip from the hotel according to google and the menu. We hope you can enjoy the event!

Dear Friends, We have planned an exciting visit to the not very well known but still impressive Reina Sofía Museum. It belongs to the Madrid museum mile, which include the Prado and the Thyssen-Bornemisza.  The Reina Sofía is not devoted to the classics like Velazquez, Tintoretto, Greco or Goya, but it accounts for the modern art, including de very famous Picasso 's Guernica, among other exciting works. It is larger than the Thyssen and covering a wider spectrum.

Dear friends, We are glad to share the planning for the partners visit in the morning. The lunch is organized by 14:00 at " Residencia de Estudiantes del CSIC ", Pinar street 21-23, 28006 Madrid.   JUST REMEMBER TO BE IN TIME (09:55AM) at the lobby of the Miguel Angel hotel, as the bus has very limited time granted for boarding. Remember once again, the weather is expected to be sunny and 30ºC during the day and 18ºC during nights (source weather.com ), so please wear comfortable shoes and dress accordingly.

We finally have the final schedule for the Conference. We have had to repeat it because we are 49 people in the end, so we have had to change some restaurants due to capacity problems. However, we are very happy with the numbers, and excited to welcome you in Madrid . The welcome dinner will be at the Hotel Miguel Ángel. The menu is:   Starters:      Salmorejo with Torrija de Pan Tumaca and Crispy Jamón Ibérico .  Main dish: Sea Bass with Pak Choi, Tomato and Seasonal Mushrooms.  Desserts Green Apple small cake with Vanilla Sherbet.    Salmorejo is a very typical Spanish dish, and we eat it specially during the summer. Hello to everybody, Yesterday we finished the inscriptions for the AIM 2019 Conference, and during the next week we'll close the list of activities and the menus of the different restaurants. Taking that into account, now would be the best moment to tell us any food allergies or special needs so we can plan for them. Please, feel free to tell us as soon as you can. We want to let you know the welcome dinner will be at the Hotel Miguel Ángel. A bus is our preferred mode of transportation, but we have to keep in mind Madrid Central, so it won't be possible to use the bus all the time. Because of this, some of the partners will have to take the subway to a few activities. The subway ¹ is the most convinient way to move around Madrid, although the buses² offer a good service as well. Taxis are also available, with a fixed fare of 30 euros from the Airport Madrid Barajas to the Hotel Miguel Ángel³.  The price varies for any other journeys in the city. If ...

TRAVELLING around MADRID Madrid’s airport is Adolfo Suárez Madrid - Barajas International Airport. It has an Information Office, for any query that the delegates might have at their arrival. To get downtown Madrid from the Barajas international airport you can choose between three options: Taxi: The travel is about 30 minutes and costs 30€. Taxis are white with a red stripe, and all use taximeter. NOTE: Not all taxis admit credit cards. Metro: Take the Metro destination to “Alonso Martinez” station. The travel is about 40min. From the airport take “line 8” direction to “Nuevos Ministerios” and when you arrive to this station take “line 10” direction to “Puerta del Sur”. “Gregorio Marañon” is the next stop. The hotel is just there. Business hours are from 6:00 am to 1:30 am working days and holidays all through the year. September is very close, and we are making a lot of tests, so we can choose activities that are really interesting. Some of them depend on the number of participants, however, and we can't pick them until we have an approximate number of people. We are working, for now, with last year's data. The same thing happens when it comes to restaurants. We want to let you know we have already chosen the salon of the Hotel Miguel Ángel, where we will have our welcome dinner. It is the recommended hotel,  you will stay in, and have fun because of the Spa and the Swiming pool. Indeed, we have selected the restaurant for the Gal Dinner. Oh, it would also be wonderful if you could let us know any problems when it comes to food (vegetarians, vegans, food allergies...) or mobility (injuries and such) so we can plan accordingly.
